We have mostly been in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida as the Embarkation and Disembarkation port for cruises. I have lost track of how many times I have been there.
We love Ft. Lauderdale, it is really easy to fly there from the DC area. Crystal and her family will drive from the Atlanta area – so it is easy for them too.
Pelican Grand Beach Resort – Beach front, lazy river, dining onsite (including an ice cream parlor). There is a spa, but we have been not visited it. The location seems to be far from the action – we walked to the action when we were there – and while Crystal can walk forever – the rest of us were like – AYKM?
Courtyard Airport and Cruise Port – This hotel offers park and cruise packages that include round trip transportation from the Cruise port of the Airport.
Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Beach – You can’t beat this location, it really is in the center of everything. You can easily walk to restaurants and shopping. Plus they have a beach!
Other recommended properties – these properties have all been on our searches when we were planning a stay but we haven’t ever book for various reasons. They all come highly recommended on Cruise Critic.
Beach – The beaches are lovely. It is nice if you can stay at a waterfront hotel and use their beach, otherwise it is nice to walk along the beach.
Shopping – Las Olas Boulevard – lots of stores and eateries
Carrie B – they offer various tours of Ft. Lauderdale where you can see all of the homes and houseboats.
Where do you like to stay when you visit Ft. Lauderdale? What do you like to do when you are there?
