If you are looking for a fun day of entertainment in Atlanta I have the trifecta for you. Whether you are a local or traveling through town Piedmont Park is always a solid choice. The park is open from 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM and is located in Midtown. There is street parking if you are willing to look for it but also a parking deck, which is always my choice. The park includes trails for walking or riding bikes, a lake, pool, tennis, sports fields, dog park, basketball and playgrounds. There is literally something for everyone including beautiful lawns if you just want to relax and people watch.
No park trip is complete for us unless we go to the Noguchi Playscape. The playscape was completed in 1976 by the artist and sculptor Isamu Noguchi. The playground is very colorful and fun and makes a really cool spot to do family photos! Piedmont Park is 189 acres so you will enjoy a good afternoon of exercise.
Once you have had enough of that head to Grindhouse Burgers on Piedmont Road.
It’s only about 1.5 miles away. The atmosphere is very cool, the service is great and the burgers are awesome. The price is right also! The burgers are fresh ground and the choices are beef, turkey or veggie.
The side items are fantastic. I had the chili fries but the family had the regular fries, onion rings and fries with bacon and bleu cheese sauce.
It’s a perfect lunch but we aren’t finished yet. Go ahead and go to Buckhead and visit Georgetown Cupcake.
It’s such a pretty shop and the cupcakes are so perfect. I truly wish I could make a cupcake that looked half as good. You might want to walk around a bit more, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta is a good place to do just that. Enjoy your day in Atlanta!
