Here is a list of Metro Atlanta restaurants that I have tried recently. Sometimes I get stuck in a rut and always go to the same spots. For 2016 I decided that I would make more of an effort to try new places and visit local spots vs chain restaurants. I have to say that I have not been disappointed yet!
Of course you don’t have to twist my arm to visit a bakery! I found this absolutely adorable bake shop in Lawrenceville called the Blue Rooster Bake Shop & Eatery. It is everything you could want in a bakery. The shop is so beautifully decorated!
I chose the chicken salad sandwich and my daughter had the veggie sandwich. Both were very good!
Obviously we couldn’t leave without an assortment of pastries. I had a double chocolate cupcake, the kids tried an assortment of cookies and my husband had a brownie. All of them were very good!
Last weekend when we had amazingly beautiful weather in Atlanta the kids and I went to the Atlanta Food Truck Park! It was a great casual experience. It’s nice because each person can choose what they want to eat from different trucks and then all dine together at the picnic tables. I think the park must be more crowded in the summer but the day we went it was a small crowd.
My daughter had a fabulous grilled cheese sandwich from the Speakcheesy truck. She had the triple X with soup. The soup was incredible.
My son and I both had jerk chicken sandwiches from the One Love truck.
Another great place that we found was Rev Coffee Roasters in Smyrna.
The atmosphere is casual and the shop is very cool! If you are in the area give it a try!
