A few years ago my friend Tara brought these grape jelly meatballs to a work function. I was not thrilled when I heard her describe them, but like the saying goes – give it a try. I tried them, and loved them. I have since made them for many potlucks and work functions.
I was invited to a 40th anniversary party and offered to bring them, they were a hit!
Now I must tell you, I made these one year, and accidentally purchased COCKTAIL sauce NOT CHILI sauce – DON’T do that!!
I usually buy:
2 packages of meatballs
2 jars of chili sauce
and either 2 smaller jars of jelly or this jar is actually bigger.
I don’t really have a recipe so I often google from the grocery store to see what the recommended amounts are.
I typically put the meatballs in my crockpot and mix the jelly and chili sauce in a bowl and zap it in the microwave to get the jelly melting. I stir that really well with a whisk until it is combined.
I forgot to snap a picture when they were really cooked.
Have you tried these? What is your favorite dish to bring to a potluck?
