The Green Flash on Captiva Island

Russell and I had lunch at The Green Flash on Captiva Island in Florida while on vacation in April.  We ordered Fried Calamari – which was only ok.  I had higher hopes for it, being we were on the ocean.  I had Shrimp and Spinach Salad which was quite good.  It had “bronzed” (there’s that reference AGAIN) prawns, spinach, pine nuts and hard-boiled eggs in a bacon and apricot vinaigrette.  I really enjoyed it and would definitely order it again.

Russell ordered clam strips.  Now we have had clams on Cape Cod – and you can’t really compare.  He enjoyed them and ate them up.

The atmosphere was different, and I felt the wait staff was a bit rude.  I had to ask several times for water and lemon and the owner/manager was hollering at staff quite rudely.

All of our research online said to check the men’s room out – and Russell did and snapped a photo for us and all of ya’ll!  This is what was in the men’s restroom:

We had walked to the restaurant, maybe the equivalence of a couple of blocks from the Cupcake house that we rented.  We decided to walk down on the docks after our meal.

While on Captiva Island, we also dined at The Bubble Room, Cantina Captiva, RC Otters and Key Lime Bistro.
