Becoming Ladylike

Oh, don’t get too excited.  My fingernails are about the only thing that is ladylike.  I still have the mouth of a sailor and often forget to brush my hair.  That just happened on Sunday. When I realized it I was already miles from my house and I muttered a few choice words. My journey to ladylike hands started a few months ago when I had dinner with friends.  I kept staring at Pam’s hands!  Her nails were so pretty and painted the nicest shade of pale pink.  Kristen noticed them also so at least I wasn’t the only freak staring at her hands!  So, naturally I set my goal to be like Pam!

I hardly ever have my nails done.  Actually, the last manicure I had the guy told me my nails were too short to have a color on them! Shame.  I was wild and crazy and had chosen a pale pink but after my lecture I left with clear polish.

I decided to buy a few products to see if I could manage to grow my nails and stop with the man hands.  I ventured into Walgreens and picked up a few products within minutes.  I don’t have the attention span to compare all of the different products and besides the print on them is so small I can’t read them anyways.  I just know that Sally Hansen is reliable so I found two products with the key words that fit my need.  Maximum growth and miracle.  Mainly, I needed the miracle.

It took about a month for my nails to grow beyond the tips of my fingers.  I told you I had man hands.  This stuff works.  I paint my nails with the Maximum growth polish and leave it alone.  After a few days I slop some more on top of the other coat.  I don’t know if this is wise, probably should take the other off first.  Who knows.  I can’t read the directions and frankly don’t care.  Occasionally, I do take it off and start again.  Maybe after four coats.

I use the miracle serum at night when I’m not too tired and it doesn’t seem like a monumental task.  It’s kinda lovely and makes my cuticles soft.  Because that is a life goal.

Looks like I got in a fight with the nail polish. The struggle to paint nails is real.

You won’t read many beauty product reviews from me.  That’s more of Kerry’s gig.  I don’t use many products because they are just overwhelming.  Maybe once I can remember to brush my hair then I will branch out with more products.  My point being that if I have taken the time to take these cheesy photos and write about nail polish then it works.  You may also like it.  Of course, I might be the only grown woman that is just learning to use nail polish.

Thank you! I was trying to be cute and painted them using a color! It’s so much work trying to make them look decent. I sported the blue color for a few days but just couldn’t take it. Back to clear now.
