Kerry and I recently visited Johnson City, Tennessee for the weekend. The amount of restaurants we visited in less than 48 hours should be commended. The cool part is that they were all centrally located so while we were eating one meal we could literally scope out the next great spot. The downtown area is seriously awesome. It is located just a few miles from our hotel. So, for breakfast we dined at Tupelo Honey Cafe where we noticed the White Duck Taco Shop for lunch and then while shopping we found Label Restaurant. If you are a foodie you will like the selection of restaurants in Johnson City.
The decor of the restaurant is really nice. I love the chopped wood and the art piece made of cigar boxes.
I broke my glasses right before I needed to read the menu in a dim restaurant. Thankfully Kerry read the menu to me and we ended up ordering the same thing. What a good friend!
We had the buttermilk chicken and the garlic fries. Oh…the fries….they were so good. The chicken was great also.
You can purchase Boomtown shirts at the restaurant. They are a local company with shirts focusing on the love of Tennessee. I purchased a shirt earlier in the day for my son. It has quickly become one of his favorite shirts. The quality is awesome, it is so soft. People all over the city were wearing shirts from Boomtown. I think what I loved most about Johnson City is that the people there really seem to love their town. It’s very cool.
