Kerry and I had spent the morning hours of our first day in Johnson City dining at Tupelo Honey Cafe where we could see this awesome building which was the White Duck Taco Shop. You don’t have to talk me out of a taco at all so we decided this would be our lunch spot.
For the first half of the day we walked around the awesome farmer’s market, the town and even ventured to the mall to check out Sephora.
We weren’t terribly hungry so we ordered light. I have to say that the service is super fast. Before I could even get my drink the food was at the table. I loved that!
I ordered the chips and salsa. I didn’t try the middle salsa because I’m a picky eater and I didn’t think I would like it. The green salsa and the regular one were good but I prefer them to be much spicier than they were.
The menu is very adventurous and I’m adventurous in every way except with my food. So, I ordered the jerk chicken taco without the stuff on it that sounded adventurous. I was left with literally a piece of jerk chicken. They told me that would happen when I ordered and honestly I was fine with it. It was very good jerk chicken!
Kerry is much more adventurous with her food and ordered the crispy pork belly with pickled watermelon rind and green onions.
She also ordered the steak and & cheese taco.
The restaurant is super cute and the seating is open to the Yee Haw Brewing Company next door.
If you visit Johnson City be sure to check these out! If you are planning a weekend trip, The Carnegie Hotel is a great place to stay!
