BeautyBlender blotterazzi

Sephora Play July 2016 ~ www.fabulousindeed.com

What it is:
A chic mirrored compact with two blotting sponges, made of beautyblender® material, for beauty touch ups on the go.

What it does:
Shaped to fit all contours of the face, the blotterazzi™ saves you from unused corners like traditional blotting papers. Made with the award-winning beautyblender material, these blotting sponges remain “thirsty” when they are dry, absorbing excess oil without disturbing makeup so that skin stays looking radiant. With the compact’s vented back and clear, hygienic separator, it ensures that the sponges keep their freshness.

Suggested Usage:
-Use dry.
-Wash with liquid blendercleanser® or blendercleanser solid®.

Step 1:
-Remove one clean blotterazzi™ from the compact.
-Retain plastic divider to hygienically separate blotters.
-Use dry, as this ensures the exclusive beautyblender® material is in “thirsty” mode and will absorb unwanted shine.

Step 2:
-Place prominent bottom half of blotterazzi gently against larger areas of the face (ie T-zone, cheeks, or chin) to absorb shine and maintain a flawless finish on existing makeup.

Step 3:
-Place fine pointed half of blotterazzi gently against small curves and corners of the face (the temples and under the eyes).
-Cleanse with blendercleanser and dry in a well-ventilated area.

About the brand:

The original beautyblender® is a revolutionary makeup sponge applicator with 360 degrees of usable surface for creating absolute complexion perfection. This five-time Allure Best of Beauty Award-winner is ergonomically designed to meet your makeup needs. beautyblender® is the first high definition, neon pink sponge application tool that gives you everything from amazingly sheer coverage to a buildable full coverage.

My Thoughts:

I am a big fan of BeautyBlender.  I haven’t loved the gimmicky ones like the mini, but the standard blender is fabulous, and IMHO can’t be duped (though many people try!)  When you buy this in the store, it comes in a compact, that would definitely make this more useful, and it comes with 2 sponges and is $20.  I will place the sample value at $6.66 since the $20 includes 3 products, and we got 1.  This sample is 1 sponge but also came with some of the liquid BeautyBlender cleanser.  5 ounces of the cleanser sells for $18, sample value $.12

My Thoughts:

First of all, the scent, oh my chocolate!  Smells so good.  I am so excited to try this, and love love love the sample.  It is very well made, and nicely thought out.  I wish more companies will make nice samples like this.  I love how the product was sealed as well.

The color seems to be universally flattering.

SMASHBOX Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer

Sephora Play July 2016 ~ www.fabulousindeed.com

What it is:
A perfecting primer that instantly blurs imperfections and reduces the appearance of pores for up to eight hours.

What it does:
This non-drying formula primes and absorbs oil all day for flawlessly smooth, shine-free skin. Sweat- and humidity-resistant, this primer dramatically blurs and reduces the look of pores, while it mattifies shine and controls oil.

Suggested Usage:
-Wear it alone, over/under makeup, or dab on for touch-ups.
-Pat it on anywhere you need a bit of shine control.

About the Brand:

Whether it’s the creation of products and tools or artistry tips and tricks, Smashbox Cosmetics is always looking at beauty through a new lens. It’s no secret their inspiration comes from their own creative compound known as Smashbox Studios where the world’s top makeup artists, photographers, celebrities, and models meet to shape and inspire future trends.

My thoughts:

Again, I am not a big primer user, when I have tried them, honestly I don’t see a big difference.  They don’t hurt, but I have yet to find one that I can’t live without.  I have tried other SMASHBOX primers before, and used to exclusively use their powder foundation (before they stopped making it!).  This product did not come sealed.

1 ounce is $39 or .5 is $16, this sample is .25 ounces and is therefore worth $9.75 or $8 respectively (here’s another product that the travel size is more cost effective).

Ouai Wave Spray

Sephora Play July 2016 ~ www.fabulousindeed.com

What it is:
A weightless texture mist for effortlessly chic, undone hair.

What it is formulated to do:
Infused with rice protein to add hold and memory for that perfect beachy look, this feather-light spray gives hair natural wave and body without any dryness or crunch.

What else you need to know:
Spritz it on damp or dry hair to activate natural waves, enhance texture, boost body, and give hair memory. This product is scented with Ouai No. 2 Fragrance, containing notes of Italian lemon, amber, and white musk.

Suggested Usage:
-Shake it up.
-Mist damp or dry hair from root to tip for easy, undone texture and enhanced natural waves.
-Or, just mist the roots for extra volume.

My thoughts:

I will try this, but find wave sprays aren’t really for me.  I have very fine, very straight hair.  I will give it a try though, but will most likely pass it on to a friend.  The scent is kind of strong.

Full size is 5 ounces and $26.  The sample is 1.7 ounces and is valued at $8.84

NEST Fragrances Citrine

Sephora Play July 2016 ~ www.fabulousindeed.com

The dewy softness of lotus flower and freesia are set against sparkling citrus notes and hints of precious woods.

Inspired by the works of 18th Century British artist Mrs. Mary Delany, Laura Slatkin collaborated with master perfumers to translate these works of art into luxurious fragrances that capture the essence of each of the botanicals that adorn the products’ striking packaging.

Notes:
Lemon Blossom, Lotus Flower, Freesia, Dew Drop Accord, Precious Woods.

Style:
Bright. Refreshing. Sparkling.

Sephora Play July 2016 ~ www.fabulousindeed.com

About the Brand:

Nest Fine Fragrances has a unique understanding of how important scent is. It transforms places and transports people. Luxury fragrance pioneer Laura Slatkin started with candles and diffusers in 2008 and expanded to perfume after finding inspiration in 18th century botanical paintings.

My Thoughts:

I like to sample fragrances, and thankfully this one came with a sprayer!  So, I thought this would be citrusy, but I find it much more flowery.  It isn’t bad, but not for me.

1.7 ounces is $68 and a .27 ounce roller ball is $25.  This sample is .04 ounces putting that value at $1.60 or $3.70 respectively.

My Thoughts:

I have liked everything that I have tried from this brand, and am excited to give this a try.  This product didn’t come sealed.

Sephora Play July 2016 ~ www.fabulousindeed.com

Full size is 4.7 ounces and is $24, the sample is 1 ounce and the value is $5.11

Final Thoughts:

All of these are great brands, and great products and I am most excited about the bronzer and the facial wash.  I will try the wave spray, but honestly don’t have great luck with products like that, I have a BeautyBlender and love it, but not so sure I will like the blotterazzi.

Final Value:  $37.19

Great reviews! These products sound really good. I’ve never heard of Sephora Play? Is it like an Ipsy glam bag or Birchbox?

Ashley – Thank you. Yes. It started a couple months back, and I was on the waitlist forever. You can get it through Sephora.com. Everyone gets the same stuff, unlike Ipsy or Birchbox. Do you get any subscriptions?
