Glad you are tuning in for the continuation of our 27 hour girls trip. My goal here is to make the review of the trip last nearly as long as the actual trip. I think it’s working. We were chilling in our sweet hotel room doing what girls do. Talking about anything and everything, looking up useless stuff on the internet, having pillow fights and giggling like school girls. All that happened except the pillow fights. Just trying to keep you interested.
Somewhere during the day this trip turned into a food tour of Atlanta. I don’t know how but I’m not complaining. We decided to take Uber over to Trader Vic’s for drinks. It was recommended by one of my co-workers who is always spot on with his restaurant choices.
Trader Vic’s is in the lower level of The Hilton. I think it has been around forever. The ambiance is very tropical, which is odd because it’s literally in a basement of a hotel. The drinks are tropical and festive and the cuisine is Polynesian.
It was so dark in there that we had to take the candles off of the table to read the drink menus.
My co-worker suggested that I get the Samoan Fog Cutter which is served in a very big vase! The drink includes rum, gin, brandy, sherry wine, orange juice and orgeat.
I thought it tasted rather delicious.
Kerry ordered the Eastern Sour. When she was finished she demonstrated that she could tie cherry stems in a knot with her tongue. Fascinating. The things you learn on a girls trip. How or why she learned this…I have no idea but it’s kinda a cool fact. Not quite resume material but close.
Another Uber picked us up and took us over to Bartaco West Midtown. We have covered Bartaco on the blog before but since it’s that damn good it gets another feature. Because tacos. At least we went to a different location just to make sure that it was awesome as well. It was.
That’s just my plate. Kidding of course. Or am I?
I don’t know what is in this salsa but if they sold it by the gallon I would buy it.
That is Kerry’s drink. She can’t do any tricks with limes. As far as I know. She obviously needs to step up her game.
Chicken and rice bowl. Pretty tasty.
Of course I couldn’t shy away from dessert. That would just be crazy. I ordered the spiced pudding. We spent entirely too much time analyzing the spice before we just asked. It’s cayenne pepper and cinnamon. I’ll save you the trouble of guessing.
Stay tuned…there will be more of our girls trip coverage coming up. Where will Uber take us next? Spoiler alert….it’s likely to be another bar because it’s only 10 PM.
