We recently spent three days at an event at Road Atlanta. It’s about 1.5 hours from home without glorious Atlanta traffic. Glorious is written in my sarcastic font in case you were wondering. It’s just too far to drive to an event daily so we picked a local hotel that was pretty darn awesome for the price point! It was worth my sanity not to drive back and forth. There was a camping option for the event, which I obviously didn’t choose. I love to camp…but during select months when the temperature is not 98 with sweltering humidity and I do prefer a luxurioius motorhome versus a tent. It’s all in the details.
The Best Western is right off the interstate and has plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. I’m always concerned where the nearest food choices are. You know, because I like to eat.
The hotel lobby is very casual and comfortable. I like the staircase instead of using the elevator!
There is a small business center and a nice cafe area for the breakfast. I have to say that this breakfast area is one of the nicest / cleanest that I have seen!
The hotel has a gym. I didn’t use it. I only entered it to take this picture for the fitness enthusiasts out there! I got all of my exercise at the track in the previously mentioned 98 degree sweltering heat.
Now we are talking…the hotel pool! I didn’t use the pool either but it looked nice and clean.
The hotel is not huge but it’s nice and again, it’s very affordable!
The rooms are nice and a good size. There are a few details that I would like to point out. See the low table to the right, that’s a good idea. It’s a good place to put everything. Also, a note to all hotel interior designers…please make sure the bulky desk chair tucks under the desk so that it won’t take up floor space. Thank you. Best Western got this right.
I’m impressed with the small stuff obviously because I loved that the remote was in this “fresh” bag! Does it mean the remote is actually clean? Who knows, but for some reason it seemed cleaner. Interesting note. I never, ever, ever turn on the TV in a hotel. I don’t need it, nor want it.
I also never use the coffee machine, microwave or usually the refrigerator. However, this time we needed the refrigerator to keep our 10,000 (rough estimate) bottles of water cold for the event at the track.
You never know when you will need a hotel in the Lake Lanier / North Atlanta area. If you are traveling through or attending one of the awesome events at Road Atlanta this hotel is a great choice! Tell them that Crystal sent you! No, don’t do that…they have no idea who I am.
