I am back for another restaurant review. My office is located between two very big shopping centers – Downtown Crown and Rio Washingtonian. I have covered a few places at Downtown Crown, but decided, I needed to share the love and go to Rio!
I have been to a Nando’s before in DC, but it has been a few years. I must say when you walk into this Nando’s (maybe we all of them), I was very confused. You walk in and they give you a number and seat you. And then you sit. And you are confused. Finally, someone tells you – go wait in line to order. Which, is not intuitive, at all! So, you go wait in line to order, and then they bring your food to your table. So, when you order you have to remember your number. So, I sound very annoyed, and I was. But it is worth it! And, honestly, once you have gone once, you know what to expect.
Figuring out what to order will be your next issue! The ladies next to us had the wings and they looked good, so that is what I ordered. I like the Peri Peri sauce the best.
There are a ton of sauces that you can get – and in our Nando’s they are by the drink fountain.
My coworker got the chicken thigh sandwich. She really liked it.
I loved all of the décor in the restaurant. These are bottles in the wall. So cool.
The Nando’s at Rio has outdoor seating as well, which is a nice option when the weather is lovely!
Another cool thing, which I don’t seem to have a picture of. There is a hand washing station right by the line to order food. This is great, because a lot of the menu is finger food, but you don’t have to go to the bathroom to wash up – you can just go right there to the hand washing station.
