I am behind, but here is my review of First Dates Episode 2. I really like this show.
Trust issues prevent a love connection, single parents find their spark, a couple learns they have a surprising number of things in common, a social media addict searches for love beyond the swipe and a returning dater gets a second chance.
Dylan and Yvonne
Dylan is the typical douche. Sorry, but he is. He tells us he is usually with a group of guys. He also seems stoned and drunk through the whole date.
Yvonne is looking for a kind guy who likes dogs and doesn’t take things too seriously.
Their first meeting is a bit awkward. He does get up and hug her, which is cute.
Yvonne has trust issues. They bond over discussing their awkward middle school days. Dylan compliments her constantly, which she admits don’t sit well with her. Dylan seems really drunk. They have an awkward discussion about Tinder. She calls him out on being drunk.
He goes tot he bathroom and call his bros. He says she is smoking, but he has no idea what her name is. He comes back to the table and asks, quite cleverly, what are her nicknames, and it becomes clear that he doesn’t know her name.
The bill is delivered to the table, and Yvonne immediately offers to split the bill. He says no, and then realizes that he doesn’t have his credit card, and she ends up paying. Again DOUCE! He is so drunk.
He is devastated (at least he says so), and she says, don’t worry about. Then he says – let’s kiss! Actually, he suggests a dramatic kiss outside. She says, she doesn’t kiss on a first date.
He says he wants to see her again, and she says no. She tells us, doing this makes her miss the spark and chemistry of her last relationship.
They hugged it out and left still single. He admits he screwed that up, Ya Think? She tells her driver that was the worst date ever! Yes Dear, it was! It was painful.
Shawn and Angela
Shawn seems super funny and is a club promoter.
Angela is a single mother. She mentions that her last relationship was 2 different ships! LOL – she was in a relationship and he was in a friend with benefits ship.
Their first meeting is cute. She declines a drink and asks for water – good girl. The whole time I watch this show, I think about Patti Stanger from the Millionaire Matchmaker and her 2 drink maximum rule! These people drink a lot, and get pretty drunk on most of these dates!
They have immediate camaraderie and banter. I have to admit I had to google the percolator song….I had no idea what that was! They discuss their children, he has a 4 year old, and she has a 16 year old. Both are shocked about the others kids age.
He jokes about making her pay when the bill comes. He is quite funny!
They leave and he has a pocket of tic tacs! She razzes him for that!
They decide to see each other again! Yay! She makes him answer first. I like them.
Andy and Jason
Andy tells us that he wants to find someone he wants to kiss at the end of the evening and vice versa.
Jason feels like he is aged out of the dating world.
At first they seem to have an awkward connection, but it really grows.
Jason seems to be turned off by Andy’s age at first and kind of insults him. They admit the gay community is very ageist.
They both discuss their mothers, and it seems obvious they both have great relationships with their moms, which they both really like. They discussed their personal coming out stories, and you really see the lights going off in each others heads, like hey THIS IS A GREAT MATCH!
The legalization of Gay Marriage is discussed, they really had an amazing connection! They tell each other right then how much they are enjoying themselves!
Andy picks the desert and Jason asks to pay for dinner and Andy says, only if he will go out with him again! They agree right there to see each other!
Anip and Hayley
Anip is a photographer (hey photographers!). He is a social media addict and can’t put his phone down.
Hayley seems smart and knows a lot of languages.
Their first meeting, is a bit awkward. Well I guess they all are. She tells us she needs someone who makes her laugh and isn’t uptight.
Anip shares his vocal trumpeting talent, and it is really amazing, and weird. They discuss his addiction to social media, and you can tell Hayley isn’t thrilled. He tricks Hayley into replying to her mom, but he just wanted to be able to pull out his phone. Again, she wasn’t impressed.
Anip asks Hayley if she is trying to “tie it down”. She isn’t impressed, again. She says she isn’t trying to tie it down, and he says, he needs to within a couple of years, and that although his parents aren’t for arranged marriage, there is something similar that will happen if he can’t “tie it down” in time. He asks Hayley if she is Indian, and she shares that she isn’t, he knows his mom won’t approve.
They find another item, that they don’t necessarily mesh on. Anip wants 4 kids, and Hayley is fine to have them or not have them.
It comes out that Anip lives with his parents, again, seems like another strike against him for Hayley. The bill comes and Anip pays.
Anip says Hayley isn’t the type of girl that he typically would go for, and says BUT, he would date her again cause she is pretty. Really? She says no, she would be fine to hang out but doesn’t want to date Anip. She says he is too fast paced for her?
Woody and Sara
Woody is back from Episode 1! I wonder if we will get other repeat daters from those that don’t find a match?
Woody tells us that he wants a natural woman, unlike his first date on the show, and Sara says she is looking for the typical American Boy. I am excited about this match. Sara reminds me of Mayim Bialik.
Sara and Woody seem to have instant chemistry.
She orders a “French 75”. Which I googled – lemon juice, simple syrup, champagne, and gin. Sorry you lost me at gin! Sara reminds me of Mayim Bialik.
Woody and Sara decide to compare their heights, since he is 6 foot and she is 5’10. It is so cute, he says, you just touched my butt!
Sara tells us that finding a man is like picking a puppy from the shelter, they are all so cute and sweet, but when you bring it home, it may pee all over your house.
Woody helps her clean lipstick off her nose. Seriously, they are really cute and have great banter.
Sara shares her travel experiences and Woody is impressed. They then find out that they have something else in common. I am amazed this even came up. They would both eat human meat. Um, do not admit that, and especially not on national television!
Woody tells Sara that this is his second date in this restaurant, and everything that he wanted out of the first one Sara gave him in the second date. She says, she likes him but there is a BUT. She doesn’t like beards and grabs a hold of it and suggest he trip it and the moustache, his eyes says he like her hands on him!
In the post date interview room, they are both all smiles and agree to see each other again. She asks him to shave his beard, he says no!
Sara goes in for a kiss, and razzes him and says, you have to give me more than that! I love her. I do have an issue with Woody- he kisses with his eyes open! Don’t do that! It is creepy, especially on National TV.
We only get final updates on these couples. I really wish they would give a final update on all of the couples! Drew or Ellen if you are listening, please do that! Thanks!
I really like this show! Though, I am so glad I am happily married, and don’t have to date!!! If you missed the recap for Episode 1 check it out here!
