A dater is held back by a dozen deal-breakers, a 65-year-old returns to the dating pool, two foodies connect, a party girl meets a hip-hop dancer and an entrepreneur tries to trust again.
Kristen and Levi
Kristen is a fitness blogger (bloggers unite!) has not been in a relationship in about 4 years.
Levi is an athlete who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. He competes with Team USA in triathlon! That should impress a fitness blogger!
They seem to like each other from the beginning. Discuss both of their fitness journeys. He immediately tells Kristen about his leg.
Kristen is very rigid and is teased by her friends for all of her deal breakers. I don’t understand single people, who clearly don’t want to be single, yet choose to be single (by rejecting someone for some bizarre deal breaker)…anyway.
Levi moves his chair next to Kristen. So cute!
Kristen seems to run through her deal breaker checklist, which bless Levi for humoring her. By the way, if a guy has a cat he is a serial killer according to Kristen.
He says he wants to see her again, and she sort of agrees.
Mary Kay and George
Mary Kay hasn’t dated in over 20 years, so bravely re-enters it on National Television!
George has been married a few times and looks good for his age.
They seem to have a great connection. Mary Kay explains why she left the dating world. Someone she dated wanted to use whips and chains. She says there are a lot of whackos out there – yes Mary Kay there are! She was married and thought it would be forever. She is open to finding love again. Awww, I hope she does!
George asks Mary Kay what she is looking for, and she says companionship. It seems, he was looking for a different answer.
Mary Kay says she would go out with George again, but he says no. He says he is looking for someone he wants to live with and marry, but he doesn’t look at her that way. I hope they match her up again, like they did Woody.
Nelson and Stephanie
I don’t know who matches these people up to have the blind date, but they really do a good job. They seem similar and like a good match at their first introduction. Nelson tells us that he lost a lot of weight and exercises a lot in order to eat! Smart man! Stephanie tells us that she doesn’t date to just date.
She orders a drink with egg whites. Whiskey sour with egg whites served up. Ok so you know, I like to figure these things out. This is what google told me: pasteurized egg white, whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup. So straight up means chilled without ice. Hmmm, this show may make me a better bartender!
They are both from Seattle and both speak Chinese. They both are foodies. They find out some of his roommates went to school with Stephanie!
Nelson is very open and Stephanie is more reserved. They talk about why each of them are single, she said she doesn’t give guys the chance, Nelson had his heart broken, and then a friend married that girl! Nelson – pick better friends! He shares that he is very insecure. She goes to the restroom and calls a friend, and tells her that he is so open, and she doesn’t know how to be that way.
She does great when she comes back to the table, and says she is having a hard time being vulnerable.
The bill comes, and he insists on paying.
They both emphatically agree to see each other again!
Casey and Dantriell
Casey has trouble getting into the restaurant, bless her heart. She reveals to us to us that she likes to date only black guys, and that she likes to dance on tables.
Dantriell is looking for someone with lots of layers.
They have immediate sexual chemistry and throw out lots of sexual innuendo. Some of it isn’t that inferred though!
Dantriell tells Casey that he is a dance teacher, and she likes it. There is a lot of discussion about her “MEOW” necklace.
We have more meat jokes, and white meat jokes. Casey says she is a party girl, and it is hard to break that reputation. Well – when your date says “meow” and you shake what your momma gave you each time, you aren’t really helping that reputation.
Dantriell starts flirting with the waitress. He reveals to us that he became a player after being hurt by a past girlfriend, as a protection. He tells Casey that he likes her, and the waitress comes back and he asks for her number. Casey isn’t impressed. He pays the bill.
When asked if they will see each other again, she hesitates and he says, no I believe in us! They won’t be seeing each other again.
Jennifer and Michael
Jennifer is a one date wonder and a very successful business woman.
Michael is looking for a strong woman who doesn’t play games.
They both seem awkward, but are trying. Both are very guarded. Of course when Michael asks what she is looking for, she says companionship and mentions she needed someone to help her move furniture and to fill her king sized bed! Jennifer says he looks nice, and his immediate response is looks can be deceiving. UM? She reveals that she has lots of trust issues.
Jennifer talks to another dater in the restroom and says that she just can’t decide if she should trust Michael. She walks back to the table and he was texting. She calls him out on it, and he kind of skates around it. She asks him when was his last relationship – and he can’t really decide between 6 and 8 months ago…UM?
The bill is delivered. He pays (I think). Jennifer says she doesn’t know anymore about Michael than she did at the beginning of the date.
Jennifer asks him who is was texting in the exit interview. The producer calls him out for talking on the phone before the date….CRICKETS. Oh no! They show video of him talking to someone (he was late for the date which I didn’t mention before). He is on the phone and telling the person that he has a presentation to give, then he will go straight to the hotel and pack and he can’t wait to go home! He says at the end of the call “all right baby, Muah!” and he even said words of affection! EWWWW! He gets very antsy when the Producer pushes him to admit to being a dog.
Michael tells Jennifer that things got misconstrued and he would like to call her, she says no. He says ok and walks away.
Jennifer is obviously discouraged, but she says she isn’t going to quit. Maybe we will see her again on First Dates.
So I was trying to find Kristen’s blog. Which I never found. But I did find some interesting comments on the First Dates Facebook page! Levi is happily engaged and getting married in 5 weeks! His fiancé posted on the page and this is a picture!
Levi was commenting on the thread too, and revealed that Kristen was seeing someone when the episode was filmed….and it was filmed in July 2015. I do my research folks! (not stalking!) (Now I want to read the facebook page to see if there are updates on any of the other couples/non-couples).
Based on the Facebook page, I am not too hopeful about Nelson and Stephanie being still together. He responded to some posts on the page, but never said if they were together, but in my quick glance at his profile, she isn’t there.
So Andy from Episode 2 posted on the page too, and it doesn’t sound like he and Jason are still together. 🙁 He says amazing things about Jason though and says they are friends.
