I had never heard of Jamberry until a friend invited me to an online Facebook party! I checked out their website and just fell in love! First, I need to say that I don’t usually have manicures done at the salon unless it’s for an occasion or if I’m with a friend. Recently, when I was visiting Kerry we went and it was great. It was pricy but I had not gone in about four months so it was worth it. I had the gel polish put on and it lasted about two weeks where it looked decent. This is what it looked like at almost three weeks. Yes, I did keep telling myself that it looked fine and I would deal with it tomorrow….and I walked around with my nails looking like this. Shame.
I despise painting my nails myself because they end up looking like garbage and then changing out the color is a pain in my butt just to repaint garbage on them again. So, until now I would go to the salon about three times a year. Other than that my nails would be plain. And boring.
Once I started looking at all the designs on Jamberry I nearly fell over. They are so pretty. It was my first time even considering a design so I didn’t go nuts. I ordered just a small pattern to try it out. I also ordered a few junior versions for my daughter!
I ordered the starter kit which came with four designs, a heater, and a bag with all the tools you would need. I also got the amazing cuticle oil. I love it. The package arrived approximately 10 minutes after I ordered it. That’s a slight exaggeration but it did arrive within like two days. I also hate waiting for packages so I was more than thrilled when it arrived so quickly.
They are essentially a nail wrap. They come on a sheet of plastic with multiple sized to choose from. There is a great video online that I watched once and I felt comfortable to try it myself. You just cut the size that you want in half and pick it up with the little stick. You hold it in front of the heater for a few seconds until it starts to curl and then apply it to your nail. You press down and make sure it is applied well. I hold my finger to the heater again and then press again.
My nails are short. Like man hands. So after I apply the wrap it looks like this. I just trim it down and then file it and it’s done! The pictures don’t do them justice at all. They are glossy and look perfect.
They don’t chip or snag or anything. The picture below is after about 1 1/2 weeks. The color is much prettier in person. To take them off just hold your finger to the heater and lift from the sides with the stick. It’s very easy. I use fingernail polish remover to get some of the sticky off. Then I just wash my hands and put on the next set. I don’t think it is a coincidence but my nails have grown and feel stronger with the wraps on them. Maybe it’s the cuticle oil. My nails are not damaged when I take the wrap off either.
I can’t wait to order more colors and patterns. Seriously, the selection is amazing. I think I can get about three manicures / pedicures out of each sheet which is much less expensive than going to the salon! Jamberry has won me over and now I won’t be caught walking around with jacked up looking nails!
