Yesterday I wrote about our visit to the mercantile and shared all of the wonderful pictures. Before we shopped we actually had breakfast at the merc.
There was a small line outside but it moved quickly. There were tents for shade and benches if needed.
The building is absolutely beautiful down to the very last detail. The menu is delightful. It was hard to narrow down what we wanted but we managed.
The dishes that they served breakfast on were so nice. They are for sale at the merc if you want to take a set home!
Let’s talk about these biscuits. Hands down the best ones I’ve ever had.
I’m from the south so I know a thing or two about sweet tea. This tea was perfection. Perfection down to the perfect ice and the ginormous jar that it was served in. To top it off the tea only cost .$50! Most restaurants charge $2.50 for a tea!
Ok, that’s a lot of pictures of food! (there were four of us but still!) We all ate every bit of our breakfast and there were zero complaints!
Let’s get real though! The highlight of breakfast was that we actually met the cowboys! Ladd, cowboy Josh and some of the kids arrived to have breakfast! How lucky we were with our timing.
Cowboy Josh is my favorite! Both Ladd and Josh were as kind as they could be! They were taking pictures with everyone and they didn’t seem bothered one bit! They stayed for about an hour. Ladd walked around to the tables and talked to everyone and took pictures. He is so polite. He pulled the chairs out for ladies and he seemed genuinely interested in talking to people.
Check out the grins on our faces. Seriously, we were so darn thrilled with the entire morning and so excited that we met the cowboys that we couldn’t stop cheesing over it.
Now look at my kids who were clearly tired of us talking about it and we were probably embarrassing them a little bit too!
I don’t even care. The kids actually enjoyed being there and they certainly loved the food. They just haven’t seen me act so giddy over something in such a long time. If you can get to the merc it is certainly worth it! We loved every.single.thing.about.it. There will be one more post to come with all the pictures of bakery!
