Let’s just say we arrived at the Bartlesville, Oklahoma Hampton Inn skirting into the parking lot on two wheels thankful to finally arrive around 1:00 AM! I strategically planned our two-week summer road trip so that I would never have to drive at night. That planned got thrown out the window when we lost a day in Colorado Springs waiting (not patiently) for our rental van to be replaced.
We tried to make our drive in Oklahoma as fun as possible. I had to turn on my music to stay awake. Kerry and Kobe were on deer watching duty. I couldn’t tell you what our surroundings looked like nor the kind of road we were on. I have never, ever seen such darkness. There were no street lights, no anything for hours. We did notice the next morning how beautiful the landscape was so it’s a shame we missed hours of it the night before in the pure darkness!
Even our hotel pictures are dark because duh, it was late and we were t.i.r.e.d. The hotel is very nice though and in a good location. It must be good because it was packed!!
Bartlesville is a great location to stay at if you plan on visiting Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile. That is the exact reason we were in Oklahoma. We actually slept in a little and arrived at the Mercantile around 9:00 AM for one of the best meals ever.
The drive from Bartlesville to the Mercantile is casual and scenic and takes around 30 minutes. All and all it was a great stay at the Hampton Inn even though it was very brief!
