I made this recently, and let me tell you what, it was soooooo good! I live in Maryland, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, Marylanders know their crab! I love being somewhere and having something on the menu that says Maryland crab…whatever. I am always like, sure! (it never is by the way!). Russell and I follow a ketogenic diet, so ate it with veggies or even a spoon! But if you don’t follow a ketogenic diet then you could eat it with bread.
Seriously so good!
Recipe
Ingredients
1 8 oz package cream cheese (softened)
1 cup mayonaise
2 tsps Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 tsp ground mustard
1 pound lump crab meat
1/4 cup shredded cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix first 4 ingredients.
Then gently toss in the crab meat… – don’t break up that crab meat!
Seriously look at the difference in those lumps!!! I got one can of Premium and one can of Lump. Those 2 cans were $50!!! Next time I will just get the big stuff!! (which was $30 I think – and the other was $20) – but really the combination was great if you are doubling it like we did. Always try to get “wild caught”.
Spread into a shallow baking dish (1.5 quart).
Sprinkle with Cheddar Cheese – and I added more old bay! You can’t have too much Old Bay in your life, or your crab dip!
Bake for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
Serve with crackers or French bread (or celery sticks like us!)
Give this recipe a try, it is yummy, and great for Football Sunday!
