The Hampton Inn in Colorado Springs is very nice. It is located near the Air Force Academy, local shopping and restaurants.
Earlier in the day we traveled from Alamosa, Colorado and picked Kerry up at the airport in Colorado Springs. Our original plan was to pick Kerry up and then head up to the top of Pikes Peak! However, our rental van had other plans for us! I swear I don’t want to ever rent a car again. This rental was the absolute worst and caused us much aggravation through the trip. On this particular day we barely hit an incline at the bottom of the mountain before the van overheated.
I’ll save you the lovely details but the bottom line is that we sat in a Walmart parking lot for the majority of the day waiting for a rental car solution. Aggravated would be an understatement for the mood I was in. We did find the people watching rather fascinating throughout the day though.
We finally decided to head to dinner at the Airplane Restaurant which was a fun outing. When we finally arrived at the Hampton Inn I couldn’t have been happier!
We stayed at Hilton properties for the majority of this road trip and I found that across the board they were all very clean and had very nice people working at each one.
This is the first time that I’ve stayed brand loyal for one trip and I have to say it paid off with the accumulation of points.
We did make it to Pikes Peak the next morning after we had a great breakfast at Egg & I.
I look forward to planning the road trip for this year! Stay tuned!
