Mandalay Bay has been my favorite hotel in Las Vegas for a very long time. It’s my standard go-to hotel for many reasons. It’s affordable, the atmosphere is amazing, the pools are off the charts, the service is great, the rooms are spacious, there are great restaurant options and generally its fabulous.
The decor in the hallways is always very nice. I also love the decor in the rooms. I have seen many different styles over the years and they seem to keep getting better and better.
The rooms are far more spacious than your average hotel room. I love the two closets in the room so everything can be tucked away nicely. The attention to detail is nice. When you open the closet doors the lights in the closets come on.
If you have read my hotel reviews before you know I can’t stand a desk chair that doesn’t neatly tuck under the desk so this one passes the test! The entire desk / tv area is tidy and clean lined. Just how I like things.
Even the bed linens are nicely tucked in and nothing is hanging near the floor. Another plus.
The foyer area of the room is spacious with a nice full length mirror to make sure you look fabulous before heading out.
The bathrooms in the rooms at Mandalay Bay are incredible. I love the showers, the separate tub, and toilet area. I love that the bathroom is huge.
The pools at Mandalay Bay are incredible. There is a lazy river, a massive wave pool, smaller pools and an adult toptional pool!
There is a nice walking path around the perimeter of the pool area.
Towels are given to you once you enter the pool area.
There are a few restaurants and bars in the pool area.
There is usually a line that forms before the pool opens because everyone is trying to get an ideal location so be sure to be at the pool early! I like to be in front of the wave pool on the sand.
Here is the line when I was there last. I was having breakfast and could see the lining forming so I finished breakfast and headed down. I was pretty far back in line and still managed to get the chairs I wanted.
The wave pool is my favorite. A huge wave passes thru the pool about once a minute or two. While you wait on the wave you can mingle with others or swim around. It’s fun to watch the kids line up to ride the wave in! Be sure to wear sunglasses. It is bright…so bright in Las Vegas but standing out in the water with the reflection is intense.
I like the location of the Mandalay Bay even thought it’s at the end of the strip. There is a train that will take you down to the New York hotel. It stops next door at the Luxor also.
The lobby is wonderful. There are so many fresh flowers and it smells amazing.
If you are headed to Vegas I would highly suggest the Mandalay Bay! I don’t think you will be disappointed! Be sure to check out my restaurant reviews for the Mandalay also!
