Road Trip Itinerary From the Southeast to the West

January 2, 2018
Grand Canyon Desert View

I absolutely love a good road trip!  When I start to plan a trip I usually know the destination and the date I want to be there and I build the trip on both ends of that.  For this trip I was pretty flexible with time but I knew I needed about two weeks and I knew I wanted to be in Las Vegas on July 4th so I worked from there. You can easily modify this trip but it…

Our Current Vacation Bucket Lists

December 27, 2017

Kerry and I always have a travel bucket list whether we are traveling together or with our families.  However, since we have started our own Travel Agency I would say that our travel bucket lists have quadrupled!  I would like to say we could make this a 2018 wish list, but I highly doubt it, my goal (Kerry) will be to cross 2 off of my list – a few items will get 2 off at one time!!! Crystal’s Travel…

Hampton Inn & Suites Colorado Springs, CO

Hampton Inn & Suites Colorado Springs - Air Force Academy - I-25 North

The Hampton Inn in Colorado Springs is very nice.  It is located near the Air Force Academy, local shopping and restaurants. Earlier in the day we traveled from Alamosa, Colorado and picked Kerry up at the airport in Colorado Springs.  Our original plan was to pick Kerry up and then head up to the top of Pikes Peak!  However, our rental van had other plans for us!  I swear I don’t want to ever rent a car again.  This rental…

Dining Options at the Mandalay Bay Hotel – Part Two

November 26, 2017
Dining Options Mandalay Bay

There are so many dining options at Mandalay Bay that you will never get bored with the options.  In part one I covered the Burger Bar and Citizens. On our most recent trip we dined at Border Grill again.  We enjoyed it on our last trip and wanted to eat there again.  We had such a great dinner, we dined on the patio that overlooks the lazy river and pool area. The corn dish is amazing.  I love it so…

Dining Options at the Mandalay Bay Hotel – Part One

October 26, 2017
The Burger Bar

Mandalay Bay is my favorite hotel in Las Vegas and I look forward to my visit there for many reasons.  I certainly look forward to the restaurants.  We always eat at the Burger Bar but this was my first dining experience at Citizens. Citizens is located near the Mandalay Bay casino and is open 24 hours a day.  We visited Las Vegas in early July, we drove to Vegas from Tucson early in the morning and then stopped to see…

Hampton Inn Bartlesville, Oklahoma

The Hampton Inn Bartlesville, Oklahoma ~ www.fabulousindeed.com

Let’s just say we arrived at the Bartlesville, Oklahoma Hampton Inn skirting into the parking lot on two wheels thankful to finally arrive around 1:00 AM!  I strategically planned our two-week summer road trip so that I would never have to drive at night.  That planned got thrown out the window when we lost a day in Colorado Springs waiting (not patiently) for our rental van to be replaced. Earlier that day we had a great (yet terrifying) trip to…

Hampton Inn & Suites Germantown, TN

Hampton Inn & Suites Germantown, TN

On our last night of the summer road trip we stayed in Germantown, Tennessee.  Germantown is right outside of Memphis, we had dinner at Blues City Cafe and then headed towards Germantown. The hotel had just opened about three weeks prior to our arrival in July of 2017.  By far, this was the nicest Hampton Inn and Suites that I have stayed in. The exterior is brick which is a refreshing change from the stucco design on most hotels.  The…

Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak

One of the highlights of our road trip this summer was Pikes Peak.  My kids and I all had something in particular that the road trip was built around and Pikes Peak was the hot ticket item for my son. He has been talking about Pikes Peak forever because he loves cars and there is an incredible race that takes place at Pikes Peak.  It is unbelievable that cars race up this mountain but they do. It is known as…

The Grand Canyon – Desert View – East Entrance

Grand Canyon Desert View

We recently visited the wonderful city of Flagstaff, Arizona while on a cross-country road trip.  We got an early start on a Sunday morning and headed north to the Grand Canyon. We decided to take the scenic route on 89N through the Coconino Forest.  Once you arrive in the town of Cameron you turn towards the Grand Canyon on AZ-64.  I believe there was a gas station in Cameron and a few stores but once you turn on AZ-64 there…

Pioneer Woman’s Bakery at the Mercantile

September 6, 2017
Pioneer Woman Mercantile

Kerry and I visited the mercantile this summer and it was amazing!  That’s putting in mildly!  We enjoyed breakfast and happened to meet the cowboys!  After we shopped and ate we visited the bakery upstairs! First of all upstairs is absolutely beautiful.  The furnishings are lovely with so many beautiful sitting areas.  The assortment of chairs, sofas and rugs are on point. The bakery line can get long but it was worth it.  There is a nice assortment of choices.…
