When I went to Deep Creek Lake in July, my friend Kelli made these Hot Hawaiian Ham and Cheese, and I have wanted to make them ever since! We had them for lunch one day, and they were so, so good.
Here is how I made them.
Combine butter, poppy seeds, mustard, Worcestershire, and onion powder and mix well.
Cut the rolls in half lengthwise. As you can see I had help! Silly Ruger, always helping in the kitchen!
Place bottom half in a prepared baking pan.
Smear some of the mustard mixture on the bottom of the bread.
Layer the ham and cheese on the rolls. I don’t typically like swiss cheese, so I used provolone. I also suck at decisions so bought both kinds of ham.
Place tops of buns on top.
Spread/Pour rest of mustard mixture over the top.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Uncover and cook an additional 2 minutes. Can be served warm or cold.
These are so good. They would be great to take to a party or just have at home to eat while we watched football (Go Redskins!)
